ÇAKÜ Strengthens International Partnerships at EAIE 2026 Glasgow

Led by Rector Prof. Dr. Mevlüt Karataş, a delegation from Çankırı Karatekin University attended the European Association for International Education (EAIE) 2026 Fair in Glasgow, Scotland and held a series of meetings to expand the university’s global academic network.

As one of Europe’s premier higher education events, EAIE 2026 brought together education professionals from over 100 countries. True to its internationalization strategy, ÇAKÜ explored new academic partnership opportunities with representatives from various higher education institutions from around the world.

Türkiye’s Strong Presence in EAIE 2026

İlker Astarcı, Director of the Turkish National Agency, said Türkiye had a strong presence at this year’s fair in Glasgow. 96 Turkish universities and 41 rectors attended, he noted, taking part in extensive meetings with academics and education representatives from around the world, which led to a number of international agreements.

Strong Interest in ÇAKÜ at "Study in Türkiye" Pavilion

ÇAKÜ also took part in the “Study in Türkiye” pavilion, coordinated by the Turkish National Agency and one of the fair’s most prominent sections, with 96 Turkish universities represented.

At the stand, ÇAKÜ delegates engaged with representatives from international institutions to present the university's academic portfolio, research capabilities, and global strategy. Visitors explored opportunities for collaborative research, joint projects, and exchange programs.

Meetings for International Partnerships

Rector Prof. Dr. Mevlüt Karataş actively participated in bilateral discussions focused on broadening the university’s international scope, particularly through the Erasmus+ framework, joint academic programming, and expanded student and faculty mobility.

Reflecting on the EAIE 2026 Glasgow fair, Rector Karataş underscored the importance of the university's ongoing internationalization efforts. Karataş said ÇAKÜ remains committed to expanding international mobility opportunities for students and academics, building academic partnerships with institutions abroad, and deepening the university's engagement with the global higher education community.

The meetings held in Glasgow, Karataş added, have already contributed to strengthening ÇAKÜ's international academic network, and the university will keep working to build new partnerships and reinforce existing ones as part of its broader internationalization goals.
