ÇAKÜ and Karabük University Strengthen Academic Cooperation
Çankırı Karatekin University (ÇAKÜ) and Karabük University (KBÜ) have agreed to strengthen institutional ties and expand joint initiatives following a bilateral meeting in Karabük. Hosted by KBÜ, discussions focused on broad collaboration across research and development, internationalization, student and faculty mobility, project development, and knowledge sharing.
The delegation was led by ÇAKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Mevlüt Karataş and KBÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Kırışık, alongside ÇAKÜ Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Bozkurt, KBÜ Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Rakıp Karaş, and key administrators from both institutions.
Joint Research and Internationalization
Discussions centered on leveraging both universities' academic strengths to launch joint national and international projects, expand R&D initiatives, and increase academic exchanges.
The delegations also explored best practices in international student management, with KBÜ sharing its institutional framework to support ÇAKÜ’s internationalization goals. Together, these initiatives aim to boost academic mobility and elevate the global visibility of both institutions.
Academic Protocol to Formalize Cooperation
To solidify the partnership, Rectors Karataş and Rector Kırışık signed a comprehensive Academic Cooperation Protocol. The agreement establishes a framework for joint teaching, scientific research, and exchange programs for students and faculty.
Under the protocol, the universities will co-develop grant proposals for TÜBİTAK and international programs, expand institutional knowledge-sharing, and collaborate on joint entries for Sosyalfest.
Campus Visits and Future Outlook
As part of the visit, the ÇAKÜ delegation toured several academic and administrative units at KBÜ to review operational practices and identify further avenues for partnership.
By formalizing these ties, the agreement aims to foster long-term, sustainable collaboration, drive regional development in Çankırı and Karabük, and enhance joint scientific output.
